I, Dr. Hooshang Lahooti Dr. Scient, am a Principal Medical Scientist and Adjunct lecturer teaching Evidence-Based Medicine at Nepean Clinical School, the University of Sydney, Australia. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor lecturing and researching in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Notre Dame, Sydney, Australia.
I studied in England and Norway for a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology, an MSc in Biochemistry and Biochemical Endocrinology, and a BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences, specialising in Clinical Chemistry. My first postdoctoral Fellowship was at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, United Kingdom, and a second postdoctoral fellowship was for the Norwegian Cancer Research Society. I have authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles in basic and applied Medical Research. My primary research focuses on the Molecular Genetics of Thyroid Eye Disease (Thyroid Ophthalmopathy). I have published many articles on Autoimmune Thyroid Disorders and developed a unique laboratory test to help manage patients with various eye and thyroid disorders.
